Rob Nelson is at the scene with the very latest on the 2nd Avenue power outage.

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A power problem suspended service on part of the Second Avenue subway on the Upper East Side Friday morning.

Power went out at around 10:30 a.m. for 10 minutes, before coming back on briefly. However, it went out again at 10:50 a.m. and remained out for some time.

The loss of power was between East 72nd and East 86th streets.

No Q trains were running in either direction between 57th and 96th streets on the Second Avenue line.

Con Edison said this was not a problem with its equipment and had to do with MTA equipment. Work crews repaired the damage, and service was restored by early afternoon.

There were no trains stuck between stations, and no injuries were reported. Riders were diverted to the 4, 5 and 6 lines.
