NEW YORK (WABC) -- A New Jersey Transit train with 1,000 people on board became disabled Tuesday morning while heading to New York's Penn Station, and had to be pulled into the station.
The Northeast Corridor train from New Brunswick was due into Manhattan at 8:39 a.m.
It became unable to move in the South Tube near the East Portal due to mechanical difficulties.
A locomotive headed to the scene and pulled the disabled train into Penn Station. No injuries were reported.
At least three trains have been backed out and are returning to Secaucus.
The incident is causing delays on Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley. Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton line trains in and out of New York's Penn Station.
