UNIONDALE, N.Y. (WABC) -- She woke up to find a man standing over her in her bedroom.

The victim spoke exclusively to Eyewitness News about her real life nightmare.

It happened in Uniondale in Nassau County on Long Island.

"I probably did have time to scream, but at the same time I was in shock, like nothing came out," the victim said. "And then he gets on top of me. He said, 'I'm going to kill you if you scream.'"

The young woman says it felt like a nightmare, but what happened inside her house in Uniondale was real.

"He told me to take off my pants," the victim said. "I offered him my money because in my thoughts I think he's really about to rape me."

He took her money and her phone, but then he kept making sexual advances toward her.

"That's when I liked screamed for help from my sister, and he pushed me, and I fell into the little bed and then he punched in my face twice and then he ran away," the victim said.

She was crying hysterically, but she chased after him to see which way he ran off.

Then, she called 911.

"What would you like to say to the people who live around here?" Eyewitness News asked.

"Just to be more careful, you never know," the victim said.

The suspect had a Caribbean accent according to the victim. He was not wearing a mask but she didn't get that good of a look at him.
