Dog overjoyed to reunite with owner in New Jersey

It was pure joy when a dog was reunited with her owner after a year apart.

Laila had been staying with a family in Gloucester County while her owner, Petty Officer Christiana Baez, was stationed on the USS Harry S. Truman.

The family cared for the Pit bull through the foster program called Pact for Animals.

"I just want to say thank you so much for putting this organization together," said Baez. "Without this I would have to lose my best friend, and I'm so thankful."

The foster family and Laila formed a close bond while she was in their care.

A couple months ago, video of 8-year old Anna singing to the pup went viral.
