NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WABC) -- A waitress has been flooded with messages of support after sharing her story about a customer who asked for a new server because of how she looks.
In a Facebook post, Ashley Chiarizzio says she was in tears last weekend after her manager at a Red Robin in Tennessee told her a customer was offended by her dyed hair, tattoos and piercings.
When she came to work this weekend, her co-workers had colored their hair and were sporting temporary tattoos.
"To basically say, 'look, if you didn't like it, you can't sit with any of us,' you know? Because now we all have blue hair and tattoos," says Chiarizzio.
Chiarizzio has also gotten thousands of messages of support online. Ashley says she hopes her story will help someone think differently about a person who doesn't look like they do.
