GREENPORT, N.Y. (WABC) -- As the New York City area prepares for the fourth day of this summer's first official heat wave, an Eyewitness News viewer sent us these photos of the sun rising to start another day of heat and humidity.
Thanks to Kathy Mazzaferro for these pictures from Greenport's Sterling Cove on Long Island! She captured a series of images that progressively show the sunrise Tuesday.
Meteorologist Bill Evans said Tuesday could be a scorcher, with temperatures in the low 90s but feeling more like 95 or 100. While the sun was shining in Greenport Tuesday morning, a pop up thunderstorm is possible later in the day.
