Man hit, killed by SUV that jumps curb on West Side

WEST SIDE (WABC) -- A 56-year-old man was hit and killed by an SUV that jumped a curb on the West Side Friday night.

Victor Grant, of the Bronx, died after a 2004 Freight Liner truck and a 2005 GMC Envoy both traveling south on 11th Avenue, collided at West 42 Street, according to the New York City Police Department.

Around 10 p.m., the Envoy ran onto the sidewalk at the corner of 11th Avenue and West 42nd Street, hitting Grant. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver stayed at the scene. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
