Woman recants Williamsburg rape story

WILLIAMSBURG (WABC) -- A 20-year-old woman is recanting her story after saying she was slashed and raped in Williamsburg on Friday night.

The woman said walking along South 5th Street near Rodney Park North when she was grabbed by behind by her attacker, who unzipped her coat and cut through her clothing with her knife.

Police spent several hours on Saturday canvassing the surrounding neighborhood, talking with neighbors and handing out Crime Stoppers fliers.
