YONKERS (WABC) -- An NYPD officer who was missing since Wednesday has been found safe. He was spotted driving around in the Bronx.
He had been feared to be suicidal after last been seen at Empire Casino in Yonkers.
Authorities say Officer Elisha Duncan last talked to his father on Wednesday, telling him that he had financial problems and was depressed and upset.
Detectives began a widespread search for him Friday morning, advising fellow officers to be on the lookout for him because they feared he may try to kill himself.
As the investigation continued, police learned he is a frequent gambler who had recently collected more than $40,000 from 60 fellow officers for a group trip to watch the New York Giants in Seattle.
Duncan is a 16-year NYPD veteran who works out of the 46th Precinct.
