Yonkers police arrest naked man on street; find woman fatally stabbed in his apartment

YONKERS (WABC) -- Police are investigating a deadly stabbing in Yonkers after which the suspect was found naked on the street.

Authorities say they received calls about a nude man on the street in the area of Warburton Avenue around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

They took the 49-year-old man into custody, and when they went to check out his apartment on nearby Glenwood Avenue, they found a woman with multiple stab wounds inside.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe domestic violence may have played a role in the death.

The suspect is currently at a local hospital, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A crime scene was set up and secured in the area of this incident.

This is an active investigation at this time, and names are not being released until notifications are made to family members.
