Soloman was taken to New York Hospital Center in Queens for treatment.
Herskovits was not injured. Firefighters responded and quickly put out the blaze.
The cause was not immediately known.
Man helps elderly neighbor from burning home
QUEENS Authorities say 21-year-old Ross Herskovits realized the neighboring home at 141-68 73rd Terrace was burning just after 8 a.m. Still in his pajamas, he ran inside and helped 84-year-old Gilbert Soloman get out of the house.
