A man still in his pajamas rushed into a burning Flushing, Queens, home and helped his elderly neighbor to safety Wednesday morning.Authorities say 21-year-old Ross Herskovits realized the neighboring home at 141-68 73rd Terrace was burning just after 8 a.m. Still in his pajamas, he ran inside and helped 84-year-old Gilbert Soloman get out of the house.

Soloman was taken to New York Hospital Center in Queens for treatment.

Herskovits was not injured. Firefighters responded and quickly put out the blaze.

The cause was not immediately known.
