City buses crash, seriously injuring one driver

17 passengers from the two buses were evaluated on scene

A bus driver was seriously injured when his city bus rear-ended another in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.Newscoopter-7 was live over the scene.

Eyewitness New is told one of the drivers, a man, was trapped when his bus crashed on Empire Avenue near New York Avenue just after 6:30 a.m. this morning.

Rescuers could be seen cutting the driver from the crunch of metal. Afterwards he was taken to a nearby hospital.

Officials say as many as 17 passengers from the two buses were evaluated at the scene, all with non-serious injuries.

The buses, both on the B44 line, crashed into another bus and a pole in front of the 71st Precinct. The injured passengers were being evaluated inside the precinct.
