Campus police at Stony Brook warn of thief

STONY BROOK-WABC Police say in the last two years, the thief - who has been caught on surveillance cameras - has burglarized eight buildings at the University, stealing over 20 credit cards and charging more than $25,000 in Suffolk County, Nassau County and Queens. The subject who appears well dressed in the surveillance photos has purchased clothes, Long Island Rail Road tickets and gift cards at Target.

Suffolk County Police say the subject enters unoccupied offices at the University and steals a credit card from a women's purse then leaves. The victims don't even know that the card is gone until the next time they try to use it.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
