Ex-cop sentenced to 11 years in prison

Pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide
JERSEY CITY Kevin Freibott, who pleaded guilty last year to vehicular homicide, must serve six years, 10 months and six days before being eligible for parole.

Freibott got the maximum term for causing the crash, which killed a 2-year-old boy and put his mother in a coma.

Freibott was off-duty when his Jeep Cherokee rear-ended the car in which the boy was riding on the Pulaski Skyway in January 2007.

His blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.

Jersey City hired Freibott despite his history of driving offenses. He had been fired from the Middletown Township Police Department after an accident.
