Fire tears through Westchester church

Tarrytown schools posted a two-hour delayed opening
SLEEPY HOLLOW Authorities say the fire erupted inside the New Hope Fellowship at 242 North Broadway just before 4:45 a.m.

Flames and smoke spewed out of the structure. No injuries were reported.

Officials say Route 9 was closed through the area due to fire department activity.

Public schools in Tarrytown posted a two-hour delayed opening because of the fire.

The New Hope Fellowship is described as an independent ministry housing the Korean Church of Westchester. The congregation consists primarily of Korean-Americans and a variety of other ethnic backgrounds.
