Authorities say the worker fell from the 25th floor of a high-rise, under construction at 77 Hudson Street at around 2 p.m.
He reportedly landed on a concrete landing and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The worker was said to have been installing windows.
The construction scene is the future home of a high-rise luxury condo. A fire broke out at there last October, shooting spectacular flames into the air.
The building is being built by K. Hovnanian Homes, a unit of Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. (HOV), and Equity Residential (EQR). The building is to include commercial space, as well as a 48-story condominium tower. Occupancy is slated for the summer of 2009.
