Surveillance released in Stamford murder

STAMFORD According to authorities, at 6:35 p.m. on January 3, the 911 dispatch center began receiving calls about a man shot to death on Vine Road. The victim, later identified as 51-year-old Marco Paoletta, was found with a gunshot wound and the case was ruled a homicide.

Paoletta worked in Bridgeport. He was also an avid racquetball player and played at the Jewish Community Center in Stamford.

Police say the victim had left the center just minutes before his body was discovered a short distance away. The investigation reveals that he entered the JCC and left in the company of the same male, who is seen in the surveillance photos provided.

The male in the photos is described as follows: Olive skinned Hispanic male in his early 20's, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, very thin build with long straight black hair pulled back into a pony tail. He also had long, lamb-chop type sideburns. The male in the photo is dressed in dark colored pants, a black leather three-quarter length jacket and a black baseball cap.
