SI aux. cop nabbed in child porn bust

STATEN ISLAND Authorities say a money trail led them to 33-year-old Christopher Sakowski, whose laptop alleged had about 400 images and four video clips of child pornography, according to the Staten Island Advance.

The newspaper reports that Sakowski downloaded the porn between November 2006 and March 2008 from eight different Web sites, which he allegedly paid between $80 and $100 for membership to each site.

Police say they used PayPal purchases to track down Sakowski, who is reportedly the only person arrested so far in "Project Flicker."

Sakowski, a former bus driver for New York City Transit, has reportedly been suspended from his position as an auxiliary police officer with Staten Island Highway Patrol, pending the disposition of the case, his lawyer, Mario Gallucci, told the Advance.

Sakowski is facing a federal felony count of possessing child pornography and could spend five years in prison if convicted.

He is currently free on $200,000 bond, but is under house arrest.
