Fifteen people were injured in a stubborn fire in the Bronx Monday. The fire broke out at 2435 Crescent Avenue, a two-story commercial building, in the Fordham section.

One person is reportedly in critical condition. All the other injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Several firefighters and police officers were among the injured.

Investigators say the fire started in the stairwell. At one point, 30 people became trapped in an alley as they tried to escape the flames. Police officers had to knock down a fence to free them.
