Last night police were called to the building on 8th Avenue between 14th and 15th streets around 11:15. A man told police he walked in and found his long time girlfriend stabbed to death in their fourth floor apartment. The victim who had lived in the building for over 30 years--had been stabbed multiple times.
The victim, a 60-year-old woman had been stabbed in the head and neck.
The building's front desk is staffed around the clock...visitors must sign in. A man who lives next door says he didn't hear anything unusual last night.
At one point this morning a man was led away from the building with what appeared to be blood on the back of his jeans. There is no word yet on whether or not he is a suspect or if there are any suspects in the case.
The victim's identity has yet to be released.
