Child grazed by bullet on playground

EAST HARLEM The playground is located at a housing development 108th Street between Lexington and Madison avenues. Police officers are trying to figure out where the bullet came from and what exactly happened.

The 12-year-old boy was playing when the bullet seemed to come out of nowhere. He was taken to the hospital, where he is recovering. The injuries are not life-threatening.

Some residents in the area say they hear bullets at least once a week. Many are calling for more police protection in the area.
