The force of the impact was so great that their car ended up on top of the other vehicle.
Fourteen-year-old Alora Williams was killed.
Police say the driver, identified as 18-year-old Marco Diaz, ran a stop sign.
The car collided with a Chevy Blazer and ended up on top of it.
One neighbor began pulling out passengers from the car, which had burst into flames.
"We pulled out a third person and it was a little girl," neighbor Randy Caparco said. "And unfortunately, when we pulled her out, I knew she wasn't going to make it."
Police say it is nothing short of a miracle that any of the teens survived.
Two other passengers were transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center by Selden Rescue.
Fourteen-year-old Julian Coppola was treated for a head laceration and non-life-threatening internal injuries, while 15-year-old Danielle Alotta was treated for serious head and body trauma.
