Arrest made in fatal Far Rockaway shooting

15-year-old Brandon Bethea shot outside of Redfern houses
NEW YORK (AP) - Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says a 19-year-old man was arrested in the slaying of 15-year-old Brandon Bethea.

Bethea was fatally shot in the head May 17 when gunfire erupted as she danced with friends outside the Redfern Houses in Far Rockaway. Bethea's family had moved from there to Jamaica, Queens, shortly after her best friend was killed by a stray bullet.

The suspect in Bethea's killing is being held on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

Kelly says police are still searching for a second man in the slaying.
