FDR Drive partially closed by falling glass

UPPER EAST MANHATTAN - The incident happened around 4:00 p.m. at 1 East River Plaza, a residential tower adjacent to the drive on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Preliminary reports indicate that the five-foot by two-foot pane of glass crashed down. There are no reports of injuries.

In addition to the two southbound lanes closed on the drive near East 73rd St., the southbound exit at East 71st Street also closed. Both reopened just before 5:00 p.m.
