Three young men are under arrest after a robbery in a Bronx apartment during which they held a family hostage at gunpoint. The victims include a toddler and his grandmother. Police say the three kicked in the door of the second-floor apartment on Saturday before terrorizing the four family members.

Police stormed in after getting a call from the building in the Tremont neighborhood.

They rescued the 2-year-old boy, his mother and father, and arrested one suspect. But two gunmen still held the grandmother, with a gun to her head.

Police negotiators convinced them to drop their guns into a bucket lowered from the roof, and they were arrested.

The child's mother says she knows one of the suspects, who grew up with her in a project.
