Investigators say they targeted Asians in their sophisticated scam.
Yevgeniy Rivkin and Inessa Drabkin are the ring leaders investigators say of a massive insurance fraud scheme, netting $1.6 million in under 2 years.
The FBI and NYPD tracked the scam for 19 months, watching the pair hire dozens of people to cause accidents, fake injuries and collect insurance money according to authorities.
12 out of the 61 people indicted face hate crime charges as well.
Something those in the queens Asian American community are happy about.
Maybe prejudice in general wont stop but this particular scheme targeting Asian Americans has.
