Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square

NEW YORK Winter's Eve features free entertainment, food tastings from the many fine shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, shopping opportunities and bargains, all set in one of New York's most colorful and vibrant neighborhoods.

Winter's Eve 2008 was held on December 1st, 2008, and featured the food and fun listed below and on our other Winter's Eve pages.

7:45 - 8:15 PM BACON BROTHERS: Second set performed on 64th Street off Broadway

    It's happening Monday, December 1st starting at 5:30 p.m. The celebration begins at Dante Park, at Broadway and 63rd Street.

    There will be a neighborhood tree lighting featuring the Grandma from the Big Apple Circus and many others. And the party continues into the evening, along Broadway from the Time Warner Center to 68th Street.

    Winter's Eve Events:

    5:30 - 6:00 PM LINCOLN SQUARE HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING
    Lincoln Square BID is putting up a 20' Balsam Fir; the New York City Parks Department will install the tree at Dante Park between 63rd and 64th on Broadway. Gracious Home has created a tree topper just for this occasion.

    The following talent will entertain crowd before tree lighting:
    -Youth Pride Chorus
    -Slavic Soul Party -- All Brass Band
    -Grandma from the Big Apple Circus
    -Disney VoluntEARS collecting canned food for City Harvest
    5:50- 6:00 PM Ceremony to light the tree includes:
    Grandma from the Big Apple Circut and Michael Bacon of the Bacon Brothers flipping the switch.

    6:45 PM - 7:30 PM BACON BROTHERS on 64th Street off Broadway - 1st Set
    The actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael, an Emmy-award-winning composer, are both longtime musicians who have recorded six albums over the past 11 years. With Kevin on guitar, vocals and percussion, and Michael on guitar, vocals and cello, the band will share songs from their newest album, New Year's Day, released this November 11th on iTunes, along with hits from their last 6 albums. Eyewitness News' Bill Ritter will be on hand to introduce THE BACON BROTHERS.
