A man barred from contacting his estranged wife has been accused of stabbing her to death after she slept at a male friend's Long Island home. Suffolk County police say the man stormed into the Brentwood home Saturday morning and stabbed 47-year-old Lori Titus multiple times. Officers and emergency medical technicians called to the home rushed Titus to a hospital, where she died.

Police say the woman's 46-year-old husband was restrained by several people who were in the home.

The husband has been charged with second-degree murder.

Police say the couple separated in June and an order of protection barred him from contacting her after he was accused of assaulting her.

The couple lived in Mastic Beach and had two teenage children.
