Pedestrian struck by police cruiser

Eyewitness News has learned the 20-year-old pedestrian was hit by a police car, traveling southbound on University Avenue, just before 5 a.m.

She was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.

Officials say the officers in the police car, assigned to the 46 Precinct, were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
