Man arrested in teen slashing

BRONX Police say 29-year-old Kwame Ferguson was taken into custody at 9 a.m. at 252 Greene Avenue in Brooklyn.

He is charged with attempted murder, assault and menacing after he apparently snapped when 16-year-old Gabriel Quinones placed the bookbag on his car Thursday morning.

The brutal attack happened in broad daylight.

Police say Quinones was at a bus stop in front of PS 160, on his way to school, when he stopped to get something out of his bag.

Quinones placed the bookbag on the hood of the gray BMW X5, and that's when police say Ferguson got out of the car, exchanged words with the Quinones and then stabbed him multiple times in the chest and face.

Quinones was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is recovering.

A witness who saw the incident took down the license plate and alerted police.
