Unique holiday gift ideas

NEW YORK There are many holiday gifts that fall into the "smile, thank you and hate it" category. But Kemberly Richardson went to some holiday gift fairs and did the legwork so you don't have to.

The holiday markets can be overwhelming. There are endless booths with loads of items, and by the time stroll through, you've forgotten who you're buying for. Here are some of the favorites.

One option is called Wonder Warmers. You can find them in Columbus Circle.

It's a heating pad with a super concentrated saline solution. You simply pinch a metal chip and watch the liquid cloud up and warm up. They are reusable and come in endless designs. They instantly generate up to 130 degrees.

To purchase or for more information, visit WonderWarmers.com.

And speaking of creations, a team of artists from Atmosphere Wooden Spiral designs and makes colorful pieces. They start out flat, and them you manipulate them. Each one is unique and hand painted.

For more info, visit AtmosphereSpiral.com.

And in Bryant Park, you can swing by Homefields. They make 3-D replicas of stadiums. Most feature ariel photographs superimposed on wood. They come in all sizes, and the larger ones even light up to make you feel like you're actually there.

For more information, visit Homefields.com.

Next, it might feel like paper and look like paper, but it's also environmentally friendly and fun.

At Dynomighty Design, you'll find wallets made out of recycled water and milk containers. They're durable and both water and tear resistant. They are held together not by stitching, but with a couple of drops of glue.

To see more of their creations, including jewelry, desk DOTS and tags, visit www.dynomighty.com.

Finally, inside Grand Central, you'll find Insiders NY.

They have iconic New York photographs printed on leather bags, as well as money clips and cashmere-lined gloves. There are 15 different designs.

All of the items are affordable. Wonder Warmers start at $35. The 3-D stadiums, the small ones, are also $35. The cashmere-lined leather gloves are $100.
