Long Island man arrested on drug charges

LONG BEACH, N.Y. ssau County police say James Edwards, of Long Beach, was charged with assault and reckless endangerment following the Sunday night incident.

Police say Edwards was wanted in connection with a drug investigation, and also faces charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful fleeing of a police officer.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday. It could not immediately be determined if Edwards has a lawyer.
