WEST BABYLON --
A defense attorney on Long Island says a third person was involved in getting alcohol for two teenagers, one of whom died, on New Year's. Garret Quedens, 14, was found dead on a roadside in West Babylon early Thursday morning.
Authorities say there was alcohol in his system, but the cause of death is pending.
Police say 23-year-old Reynold Jennings and 19-year-old Ishmoile Mohammed have been charged with buying vodka for Quedens and his friend.
Now, Mohammed's lawyer says a teen acquaintance of the boys was the one who asked the older men to buy the alcohol.
The suspects could face up to one year in jail.
