Wedding gifts left in NYC taxi trunk

NEW YORK David Fitzhenry and Christine Herrick were married Saturday night. The bride slipped on ice while getting out of the taxi early Sunday. In the commotion, the gifts were momentarily forgotten.

Relatives talked the upset newlyweds out of canceling their honeymoon. They're now in Mexico.

The city has about 43,000 yellow cabs.

Taxi and Limousine Commissioner Matthew Daus says he's "cautiously optimistic for a happy ending."

Daus reminds passengers to always take their receipt: It provides the cab's medallion number.
