Man accused of ordering hit on ex

NEW JERSEY Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli announced the arrest of Karim Emara, of Iselin, on charges conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation in which Emara allegedly placed an ad on a Web site geared toward personal ads, offering someone $5,000 in exchange for this person committing an act of aggravated assault against the ex-girlfriend.

Specifically, prosecutors say Emara wanted to hire an individual to hit the woman in the knee with a blunt object (possibly a baseball bat) and to cause a permanent scar to her face (possibly by cutting her).

Emara was arrested when he arrived at a prearranged location to provide the hired individual with details of the intended victim. These details included her name, address and photograph.
