Powell to lecture at Colgate on leadership

NEW YORK Powell is scheduled to lecture on "Leadership: Taking Charge" on Friday night in the school's Sanford Field House.

School officials say the event is free, but they've already given away all the tickets they had.

Powell's appearance is part of the school's Global Leaders Lecture Series.

Last April, nearly 5,000 people packed into the field house to hear the Dalai Lama.

Before becoming secretary of state for President George W. Bush, Powell was national security adviser to President Ronald Reagan. He also served 35 years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of four-star general. Powell is the author of his best-selling autobiography, My American Journey.
