NY 'coupon diva' teaches savings tricks

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. Amy D'Agrosa of Huntington is a former nonprofit trainer who now works in her family's food manufacturing business.

D'Agrosa says coupons help her combat the feelings of helplessness that come with a bad economy. She joined the clip-and-save movement after seeing a TV segment about coupon divas in Missouri and Arizona.

During a recent party, she showed off household products that cost $5.62 after coupons and mail-in rebate. Original price: $19.46.

Attendees pay $25, which includes online resources.

D'Agrosa says she plans to approach guidance counselors about doing presentations for high schoolers.
