Two suspects fled in a green Jeep Grand Cherokee, and police chased the SUV north on Route 1.
The chase went through several towns, ending when the two suspects ditched their vehicle on Old Post Road in Edison.
They fled on foot, and one was quickly caught near the Grease Monkey oil change business.
The second suspect continued on foot, and a police officer gave chase. Witnesses say that officer pulled his weapon and fired a shot after the suspect, who was not hit. That suspect then carjacked another vehicle and sped off. He was caught a few miles away by Edison police.
