NJ man charged in daughter's death

BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) Cumberland County prosecutors said 22-year-old Terell L. Hubbard of Vineland was watching the girl by himself on Oct. 20 when he apparently became agitated because she wouldn't stop crying. They say he threw 21-week-old Lanaya Hubbard on a bed, but she instead struck a wall.

Hubbard called 911 and the girl was hospitalized, but she died three days later.

The case remained under investigation, and Hubbard was charged after prosecutors received an autopsy report Thursday that indicated brain stem trauma was the major cause of death.

Hubbard, who was being held on $100,000 bail, could get 30 years in prison if convicted. He has not yet retained an attorney.
