Twelve kids were on the bus at the time of the accident. None of the children were injured, and they were transfered to another bus.
The victim was taken to Maimonides Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say the victim was attempting to cross between two parked cars when he was struck by mini school bus eastbound on 44th Street.
He has been identified as Matthew Smolovich, of 1350 54th Street.
The bus is operated by North Star Tours. Police say no criminality was involved.
