59 injured in 3-vehicle BQE crash

The fire department says 59 people suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle pileup on New York City's Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.The FDNY says one casino bus, an empty school bus and a tractor-trailer collided. Six people were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The others were treated at the scene.

The cause of the 10:30 a.m. accident Thursday wasn't clear. The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes and snarled traffic.

Two of the victims were taken to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition. Two others went to Wycoff Hospital and two more to Hatzolah, all listed in stable condition.

The crash happened on the BQE and Bedford Avenue.
