Bandits trick, rob disabled LI homeowner

July 21, 2009 7:39:24 AM PDT
Two suspects pushed their way past a disabled homeowner and stole jewelry from a waterfront Massapequa home. Eyewitness News is told the suspects, posing as police officers, knocked on the door of the Alhambra Road home just after 3 a.m.

When the homeowner arrived at the door, the suspects apparently pushed their way in.

Police say they subdued the two residents of the home while stealing some $5,000 worth of jewelry.

The suspects fled the house, located on a canal in Massapequa.

Neither resident of the home was injured.

A large number of Nassau County police officers responded and searched the area for the suspects. No arrests were immediately made.
