NEW YORK --A New York City police officer was hospitalized but not seriously hurt early Saturday morning after someone shot him in the chest. Police say the blow was absorbed by his bulletproof vest.
Investigators were still trying to figure out whether the projectile that hit the officer was from a low-caliber firearm or a pellet gun.
The incident happened in Brooklyn's Bushwick section at about 3:30 a.m.
