PALISADES PARK --
Preliminary autopsy results show the body of a badly burned woman found in the rear of her in northern New Jersey home had been stabbed several times. Authorities don't know whether Dolores Alliotts was still alive before her Palisades Park home was set on fire Wednesday. The 69-year-old lived by herself.
Bergen County prosecutors are exploring the possibility the two-alarm blaze was deliberately set to destroy evidence.
Mayor James Rotundo says the Alliotts family has longtime roots in the town and owns plumbing and construction businesses. A street, Alliotts Place, is named for the family.
