Deadly ambulette accident on Long Island

Police on Long Island say a 94-year-old Huntington man who was being transported by an ambulette was killed in a collision in East Northport. Suffolk County Police say Ulysses Taylor and a 71-year-old Lorraine Shanahan were in the ambulette when it was struck by an SUV just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say Taylor was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital and Shanahan was listed in critical condition with head injuries.

The ambulette's driver was treated for broken ribs and a shoulder injury and the driver of the SUV was treated and released for minor injuries.

Police are still investigating.
