More than 1,000 children have spent time at Charna's Kids Club since it opened in 2007 at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NY. Charna's Kids Club is named for Charna Radbell. Before she died from cancer, she had the idea of helping kids whose families were in the midst of caring for an ill child.

Siblings of seriously ill children join the club and are able to cope through arts and playtime. It's also good for parents who can tend to their sick child while their healthy child plays nearby.

The adults at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NY are trained to watch for signs of stress, sadness, even guilt.

It makes a rough situation a little more manageable.
