9/11 workers settlement forum

More than a hundred people have gathered at a town hall meeting for 9/11 recovery and rescue workers suing New York City.

A law firm representing most of the plaintiffs in the 9/11 health litigation organized Wednesday's gathering to explain a proposed $713 million settlement.

Thousands of workers have to decide whether to accept the settlement crafted by their lawyers and approved by a judge.

They could reject it in the hope that Congress passes a bill to reopen the Sept. 11 victim compensation fund.

That bill would prohibit the workers from getting compensation through both.
