A law firm representing most of the plaintiffs in the 9/11 health litigation organized Wednesday's gathering to explain a proposed $713 million settlement.
Thousands of workers have to decide whether to accept the settlement crafted by their lawyers and approved by a judge.
They could reject it in the hope that Congress passes a bill to reopen the Sept. 11 victim compensation fund.
That bill would prohibit the workers from getting compensation through both.
