Boat hit ocean marker, injured 6 in NJ

State police say six people have been injured after a small boat struck a marker on the Intracoastal Waterway off southern New Jersey.

State police Sgt. Stephen Jones says the accident involving a 16-foot motorboat with seven people on board happened at around 5:30 p.m. near Egg Harbor Township.

Jones says a boy and his father were taken by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, while four others who were injured were taken to Atlantic City Medical Center.

The names of the injured weren't released.

Jones says none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
