Bed bugs shutter popular SoHo Hollister

SOHO Bedbugs have been found inside a popular SoHo clothing store.

Face after face peeks inside of the Epic Hollister store on 600 Broadway in Soho. But the windows are dark. The doors--locked. The sign out front says the store is temporarily closed. It doesn't say why. The reason---a bedbug infestation--according to published reports, It may take up to three applications of insecticide to eradicate the problem.

And experts say all the clothes in the store will have to be either dry cleaned or tossed out to make sure the insects are gone.

Hollister is owned by Abercrombie and Fitch. In published reports a spokesperson said the problem is in isolated to certain areas of the 40,000 square foot store.

And it's taking all the necessary steps to eradicate the problem as soon as possible. The good news is doctors say bedbugs can't transmit infectious diseases. If you are bitten, all you have to worry about is an annoying itch.
