Police search for suspect in acid attack

Police say a 29-year-old man is recovering at Cornell Hospital with second and third degree burns after being attacked with acid this morning.

The alleged attack happened at 354 East 78th street on the Upper East Side around 6 AM. The victim allegedly went to see a woman he met online.

Police say when the women's boyfriend arrived home unexpectedly, found the pair together and splashed the victim with hydrochloric acid.

Authorities are currently looking for the 37-year-old suspect, who fled the scene.
